True, getting help for adult diaper rash can be humiliating. I remember having a rash so severe I went to a dermatologist about it. It was a mortifying experience. I am very incontinent so I kept my diaper on until the doctor wanted to see the rash. Checking my rash and putting my diaper back on was an adventure in embarassment. I never have had someone change my diaper and that experience was too close. Anyway, after all that I was chastised for not changing my diaper soon enough after soiling it. I was told that "Just like with babies, wearing soiled diapers for long periods will cause a rash." Surely the doctor didn't mean it, but I hated how that statement seemed to equate me with being a baby.
