I Love the New Tranquility Smart Core Diapers

A week ago, I received some samples of the new Tranquility smart Core diapers. I loved them so much that I ordered a full shipment and changed my personally delivery plan to these diapers instead of the Slim Lines I was receiving prior.

The Smart Core diapers are right up there with the Tranquility ATN diapers but they have the cloth backing instead of the plastic. Just recently, I have taken a liking to the cloth covered diapers and have forsaken the plastic because they are not as noisy and do not make me sweat so badly.

For a while, Tranquility only made the Slim Lines with the cloth out cover in my size. They are awesome but not quite as absorbent as the Tranquility Smart Core. I liked the absorbency of the Tranquility ATN diapers but did not want to continue to get them because of the plastic. But when I heard about Smart Core--I heard about them from a member in my support group, I just had to try them.

I must say that these adult diapers are the absolute best ones with the cloth outer covering. They do not leak and quickly take the moisture from my skin. They also contain agents in them to keep fungal infections and bacterial infections at bay as well as chemicals to keep PH balanced and control odor. Best of all, they are not even nearly as expensive as the Tranquility ATN diapers, and I do not have to change them as often as the Tranquility Slim Line diapers. With the Tranquility smart Cores, I feel more confident and comfortable.

Tranquility is an awesome company. Tranquility diapers are made to fit people of all body shapes. Some brands are only designed to fit people with a specific shaped figure, such as an out-glass figure, and they do not work for others who do not have that specific that the diapers are designed to fit. With Tranquility, there is no guesswork, and you can get these diapers and feel confident that they will work and fit well.

I recommend Tranquility Smart Core diapers to anyone who needs to wear diapers.

My Mission As Incontinence Advocate Makes a Difference

Two things happened in the last few weeks that reminded me of the purpose of my incontinence advocacy work. It is these two things that have definitely reaffirmed what I am doing is an awesome thing and that I need to keep on with it, despite any persecution I may receive as a result.

The first thing that happened was that a student from UNCC Carolina studying urology contacted me. He found my blog and was interested in interviewing me because he wanted a personal perspective. He conducted his interview through email. He asked me what a day was like living with incontinence and using adult diapers to manage Overactive Bladder. I told him what he wanted to know. I not only explained what a typical day with incontinence was like, I also told him what it was like to take vacations and how using adult diapers impacted those occasions.

I also talked about what life was like when using incontinence medications. I told him about my past experiences, as well as my current one.

He will more than likely be contacting me in the future, as he told me he would throughout his studies. I totally do not mind because I love educating people about this condition, especially if I can provide a new kind of insight.

The second thing that happened to me was that a woman in my incontinence support group that I run contacted me by phone and told me that the courage that I have taken to so openly discuss my condition and my willingness to help educate society and help others suffering from incontinence has helped to liberate her. She told me that rather than live in shame and lying to people about what her problems were, she was ready to stand up and face the facts. She told me that she felt she no longer had to allow Overactive Bladder to rule her life. Rather, she was going to rule it. She told me she was going to take the bull by the horns and face things head on.

I felt so touched by this woman that I almost cried when listening to her talk. I know that people before have told me countless times that they appreciated my work and what I do, but it was something about this woman that really touched me. I could tell she was so pained. I mean, she was so ashamed that she got rid of her boyfriend because she feared having accidents during intimacy, and she said it would be the death of her if her boyfriend found out. She told me her incontinence made her feel dirty. She told me that she went through several pairs of underwear a day and that she did not want to see the doctor because she was too embarrassed. She said that she was considering wearing diapers and just being done with it. I told her she really should get the courage to see the doctor, and I also told her what to say if her doctor ended up being the judgmental type, as some are when it comes to incontinence. I do not know, but I think some of these doctors get their degrees on their backs because the way they treat patients, when they know that incontinence effects people of all ages and has many causes, is absolutely crazy. I told her to ask about Enablex, the medication I take and see what the doctor said. I told her the meds were working for me and that if they worked for her, she could be free of the prospect of wearing diapers, at least until there was no way the meds would help anymore. I wished her well, and we will definitely be talking regularly, since she is also a part of the blind community. She really is one awesome lady.

Do you see, people, why it is so important that the view of society towards the condition of incontinence is changed? People fear being judged so bad that this condition actually imprisons them, forces them to isolate and give up doing the things they loved. It should not have to be this way. That is why I do what I do. It is my hope that through sharing my experiences, supporting those with incontinence, and doing my best to educate as many as I can that the walls of stigma are eventually torn down and that all people with incontinence can be liberated and freed from their prison of shame. I will not stop doing what I do until I either die or the stigma is gone, as God is my witness.

I Need to Complain and I'm Entitled!

Hi people,

It has been a long time since I’ve contributed anything worthwhile to this blog. No worries I’ve not forgotten you people. I’ve just been busy, been under the weather, and all that good stuff. I have a whole lot to tell you guys about these past few weeks; however, I will do it gradually in different posts. But for now, I feel like complaining. Everyone is entitled, right? Well, here is my long, drawn out rant. Brace yourself because it will be a long one.

I hate wearing diapers! If I could get rid of them and be cured, I would! No wonder babies cry! No wonder they freak out. To parents who do not understand, and most do not as they are not wearing diapers themselves and do not know how it feels, change your baby as soon as they wet. Please, I beg you please, do not let them sit in it and get to it when it is convenient for you. I know how horrible it feels, and unlike a baby, I can actually communicate this to you. Diapers are the pits. They are the worse. The only thing I’m grateful about them is that they allow me to lead a normal social life. Other than that, I’d love to be rid of them. I’d love to just wave my finger one time and be rid of this stupid incontinence.

When I have children, I’m going to do elimination communication, which means I’m potty training them from birth. I will never, ever subject my baby to the evils of diaper wearing if it is not necessary. If there is no medical problem present, anybody, even a baby, has any business wearing a diaper, since babies are born fully continent. It is our society that trains them to go in a diaper just to retrain them later. For more information on infant potty training, go to the Diaper Free Baby website. Doing this for your baby is the best thing you could ever do. Not to mention, you will never have to deal with potty training power struggles, as they will only know the potty and nothing different. You will spare your baby the horrors that diapers bring, such as unbearable and painful diaper rash (Most parents, when changing their babies say “I know. I know it hurts. when the baby is screaming bloody murder due to the pain from a diaper rash. I hate when I hear parents say that because they REALLY DO NOT know how it feels. I just want to scream at them that they do not know and that it is stupid for them to say that they do. I can say that, though, because I do know how it really feels, and believe me, diaper rash hurts so bad that it is unbearable for water of any temperature to even come close to the private areas.), infections, and discomfort, marks on the skin that hurt from the diaper pinching, and friction burns. Diapers may be convenient for the parents, but this convenience comes at the cost of the baby, and I don’t feel like that is fair. So, I will again conclude by saying that diapers are evil, and I will not make my baby wear them. If I did not have to wear them, trust me when I say this, I would not. But I do not have a choice in the matter, so I’m up a creek without a paddle and a canoe. My babies do have a choice, if a medical problem is not present, so I’d like to do some self sacrificing and not subject them to stupid diapers. Stupid, stupid, stupid diapers! There is nothing like wetting and soiling yourself and wearing it. Ah! It’s the life! Not!

Whew! I feel better now!
